Gymnastics, Late Lunch, & Pool time...

On Saturday we woke up and did a little shopping prior to heading to Kaya's gymnastics recital at Weddington Activity Center. Samantha loved seeing her cousin Kaya doing gymnastics. After the recital we headed over to the Keenan's for a late lunch and to allow Karstyn and Samantha to play prior to heading up to thier pool for a little relief from the heat in Charlotte. GREAT JOB KAYA!!!!

Potty Training present from the Viscuse Family!!!

Potty Training update:

We picked Samantha up from daycare on Friday and she had no pee-pee accidents at school but one poo-poo accident.  She had no accidents at home Friday night and as of 8:40 no accidents all day today and that is with us being out and about all day.  We were so proud of the job that she is doing and to our surprise when we arrived home tonight there was a package in our mail addressed to Samantha.  Samantha was soo excited...

Time to start Potty Training....

Daycare told us on Friday of last week that Samantha was ready to start potty training as she would tell you she was going pee-pee when she was doing it in her diaper.  We asked what they suggested we do and they said do nothing, on Monday bring several pair of underwear, shorts and a couple shoes and we will take it from there.  So on Monday I drop her off, Paige and I wonder all day how she is doing but we resist the temptation to call and check on her.  That said at 5 we both go to school to pick her up and Mrs Ashley let's us know that she only had three accidents but no pee-pee in the potty.  We were like oh?  Mrs Ashley said no that is good she only had three accidents (I am thinking only 3 what in the world is normal but I let it go) and every time she did it she knew what she was doing and wanted her underwear changed immediately.  She is on the verge of getting it...we were skeptical and daddy was ready to throw the diaper back on.

It is a little weird I worry a little about her getting out of her diaper as that is just one more thing that proves that my baby girl is not going to be a baby forever...ok she will always be our baby but you know what I mean.  Mommy ask Mrs. Ashley what we should do, should we continue to try or put diaper back on and start over tomorrow.  Mrs Ashley tells us it is up to us and if we are brave enough we are welcome to continue to try it but try and stay away from carpet if at all possible.  We get home and we find out exactly what happened at school; Samantha looks up and says I'm peeing and within seconds she is peeing.  So we tell Sammie...Sammie you have to tell us before not while you are going peepee and with a straight face she looks at us and says ok (like thanks for telling me now).  Mommy and her play ball right in the Foyer by the potty just waiting for that opportunity to come up.  Mommy tells me that she knows she about to go and Samantha sits on the potty but nothing comes out.  Next thing you know Samantha jumps up and says got to potty and sits down and sure enough she goes pee-pee in the potty.  We were so excited and Samantha was too.  We rinsed out the potty, washed hands, got sticker, and then told Samantha what a great job she did prior to going to bed.  Mrs. Ashley had suggested that we use a diaper at bed time to avoid accidents in the middle of the night (THANK YOU MRS. ASHLEY).

Tuesday morning we wake up and first thing we walk to the potty.  Samantha lowers her shorts and sure enough PEE-PEE in the potty.  Great start to the day.  She had 2 accidents at school and 1 pee in the potty at school...YEAH!  Mrs Ashley even said that she let her take her nap in her underwear and no accidents during nap time.  We come home and one accident (no pee pee but one poo poo accident...to much information but the point is we learned poo poo is down the road...WHAT?). Grandma JuJu comes over and gets to see Samantha peepee in the potty.  Words can not describe the amount of pride on Samantha's face when she knows she did it.  She does one last potty before we say goodnight and call it a night (still diaper of course..why wake up in middle of night if you do not have to).

Wednesday morning she wakes up completely dry and first thing again we walk to the potty to which Samantha Pee-pees.  Samantha pee-pees at school twice but still had one accident.  Mrs Ashley said she is so proud of her and how quick she is picking it up...she is well on her way.  I ask about poo-poo and she tells us no not today but that usually comes later.  We come home and no accidents and even get brave enough to go to Target in her underwear...she tells us that she has to go poo-poo so we try to go at target but nothing.  After finishing up at Target we head home and sure enough she goes I got to go poo-poo so off to the potty we go.  Sure enough Samantha poo-poos in her potty...she is well on her way...sure we still have accidents in our future but she has really done well for trying only three days...here's to no accidents soon!!!

Brayden's Soccer Tourney!!!

We went to the lake this weekend but came back Saturday night.  Chad emailed me that Brayden's team had won both games on Saturday so would be playing again on Sunday.  We went to the 2:30 game and what a game it was...the game went into overtime and then PK's.  Brayden's team won and went on to play in the U10 (yeah Brayden is 6) Championship and actually won 3-1...they went undefeated all season...so Proud of you cousin Brayden...we love you!!!  Samantha loved seeing everyone and watching you play a great game!!!
