World Futboll Tour: 3v3 Academy: U6 Team USA...my first 3v3 tournament!!!

Today was Samantha's very first 3v3 Tournament and she was so excited that she was going to be on Karstyn's team.  The first tournament was World Futbol Tour which we learned at their tournaments it is let the kid's play.  No coaching just play.  If the ref hears parents coaching from the sidelines "get back Samantha" you can create a power play for the other team.  We had not even been to a 3v3 practice yet so we were just going to have fun and then we would go from there.

The first game Samantha did well but looked surprised that the coach was not telling her what to do (yeah the coach is not allowed to coach from the sidelines either).  The team lost the first game.  That said by the end of it you could tell that she was beginning to get it.    She actually got credit for a goal because she kicked a ball towards the goal and the other player touched it in the box.

The owner of 3v3 Academy was very nice and got with Samantha and Karstyn and gave a 15 minute intro to 3v3 which helped so much.  Samantha was excited about game two and you could tell she was beginning to understand the game.  Sammie and Kar had a blast and were smiling ear to ear.  They won the second game.

We only had a short break until game three and Samantha got put in drop position (defense).  She played great defense and wouldn't let anything get past her.  They won the third and final game so went 2 and 1 in the tourney.  Great job Team USA, Great job Karstyn; & GREAT JOB Samantha.  Can't wait till the next tournament in January, although daddy has to remember to stop putting the camera down for cheering when Samantha has the ball.

I have not stopped smiling ear to ear...so proud of you Samantha!!!
