Road Trip to the NC Mountains!!!

This weekend we decided after Samantha's soccer game that we were going to head to the mountains for a road trip.  This road trip was going to be special because Austin was going to get to come with us and enjoy the trip.  On Saturday it poured down rain at soccer and rained most of the day.  We stopped at an Apple farm on the way to Brevard to check into the hotel.  The next morning we woke up to a beautiful sky so we loaded up the truck and headed out on an adventure to see 3 different waterfalls in Brevard and check out the Pisgah National Forest.  The Pisgah National Forest was awesome and we want to head back up for a camping trip in the future.  The views were absolutely breathtaking.  Everyone was starting to get tired so we started heading towards Cherokee and stopped in Waynesville, NC for lunch.  We found a very cute restaurant for lunch and everywhere Austin went he was treated like royalty (thanks mommy for finding all the pet friendly places).  After lunch and walking around the cute town of Waynesville, it was off to Cherokee, NC.  On the way to Cherokee we stopped by several overlooks to look at the beautiful colors of the mountains because of the leaves.  It was off to check into Harrah's where they rolled out the red carpet for Austin.  JuJu, Grandpa, Samantha & Austin headed to room after dinner to get on PJs and watch movies while Paige and I headed to the casino.  We woke up the next morning and Samantha had her heart set on one of the pancake houses that we had seen all over the place the day before, so Austin and I dropped them off (could not find a dog friendly one) and Austin and I went to McDonald's drive-thru.  After breakfast we headed on an adventure to find some wild Elk.  Paige had heard of a spot and turned out to be great spot as we saw the 4 most beautiful Elk.  After visiting with the Elk we headed to do some Cherokee shopping and then were off for some gem mining.  Such a fun weekend but it was time to head back to Charlotte.  Great weekend and Austin loved it!!!
