Great Wolf Lodge!!!
Now this is what I call a weekend getaway; we had been wanting to plan a weekend trip with the Viscuse cousins for a while now and had finally decided to go to Great Wolf Lodge. We are big fans of weekend road trips but a 23 mile trip is about as good as it gets. Check-in was at 1:00 so after eating lunch we headed up 485. About 10 miles north of our house we saw where a tornado had touched down last night around 3:00 and destroyed everything in its path; pretty amazing; I have never seen anything like it. We thank our lucky stars that it stayed away from us and then immediately start thinking of those that it did impact and hoping everyone was safe. We proceed on to Concord to check in. The rooms are not ready till 4:00 but they give you wristbands and allow you to go ahead and start enjoying the waterpark. We had a blast; this is our second time at this Great Wolf Lodge and we can tell it is just going to get more fun as Samantha gets older. Samantha loved seeing her cousins and enjoying the waterpark with them. She really made daddy proud when she went down the big orange waterslide by herself and loved it so much asked she immediately said Daddy can I go again? It was getting close to dinner time so we headed upstairs to check out the room and get ready for dinner. The room was very nice and bigger than I remember. There was a great view from the balcony. We decide to meet downstairs for dinner at the buffet; you can order off the menu but the buffet looked good so everyone decided to go that route. After dinner there was a magic show so Samantha went to watch that while her cousins went to get a little more swimming in. After the magic show it was time to go put on pj's for the story time which was so cute. On our way to put on our pj's we ran into Kaya who we knew was here for a birthday party and were looking forward to getting to hang out with tomorrow. We enjoyed a nice story and show prior to calling it a night and heading up to bed. I slipped back into the pool area to get a couple pics of the older kids still having a blast in the pools. Samantha had asked first thing this morning if Morgan would spend the night which she did so Sammie was so happy. The waterpark closed at 9:00 and opens back up at 8:55. We are allowed to stay in the waterpark tomorrow until it closes which I think is really cool that they do but our plan is to leave around 5:00 tomorrow to start the long 23 mile trip back home to get ready for Monday.
