California Vacation 2017 - Day 2 - Disneyland!!!

Familiar, yet different was the theme of the day.  California is three hours behind North Carolina so we all woke up super early this morning which was good because rope drop was at 7:00 as Paige had got us an extra magic hour this morning.  We arrived prior to rope drop and headed straight to Peter Pan's Flight.  I will say when you start making that walk down Main Street and you turn and don't see the huge castle it does feel like it is missing something but that is the only thing that made us feel like we were missing anything all day.  Disneyland has fast passes like the old way at Disney World except you can pay $30 (Max Plus) to use app to get them vs having to walk to the distribution areas.  We absolutely loved it and it was great to have the old fast pass system without having to run to a distribution area to try and get the fast passes (well worth the $30).  Everything at Disneyland was familiar yet a little different.  They have the lands very much like Magic Kingdom; we spent most of our morning in Fantasy Land prior to heading out to explore the rest of the park.  I was so excited to get to ride Mr. Toad's.  After several rides it was time to head to brunch which Paige had reservations at Plaza Inn which would have been like Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom (character meal).  After brunch it was off to get more rides in.  We tried to ride Big Thumder Mountain but it was having mechanical issues all day so were not able to ride it.  Such an awesome day at a new park which was the original; again familiar but different is what I caught myself thinking or saying throughout the day!  After 15 hours in the park we decided to call it a night after the fireworks and head back to the hotel.  Tomorrow we go to the other park at Disneyland, California Adventure with rope drop at 8:00 am.
