Day trip to the mountains!!!!

We had heard that it was supposed to be extremely hot in Charlotte on Saturday so we decided we would do a day trip to the mountains.  We really have not been to Boone in a while so we would head up and maybe do Tweetsie and then drive through Boone and just have a relaxing day.  We woke up and picked up Grandma JuJu and started our way up the mountain.  We got to Tweetsie and Samantha was so excited...Choo Choo Train....Choo Choo Train.  We were there probably around 10:00 so we decided to go ahead and ride the Choo Choo first before it got crowded and boy did Samantha love it.  She loved the cowboys and even the nice indians.  We headed to lunch to go ahead and get that out of the way prior to enjoying the rest of the park.  After lunch it was time for the can-can show which Samantha adored.  Daddy had been looking for a place to make the signs that you used to see at the beach that had the families name and where they are from but could not find anyplace that sells them...sure enough we walk around the corner and there they are.  Daddy was now excited; time to ride the chairlift; to which daddy somehow convienced (ok tricked) JuJu into riding by herself (so proud of you,JuJu).  Samantha loved riding the chairlift and of course daddy used it as a great opportunity to explain how to ride the chair lift with skis on your feet as that should be coming this winter.  Off to feed the animals and ride some rides prior to it starting to sprinkle.  You could tell we were going to get a little rain but how much was the question.  After riding rides we started to head down for the doggy show.  This weekend they had the dog show at Tweetsie and those dogs could jump, catch frisbees and swim.  After walking throught the shops we decided to go ahead and call it a day and head into Boone so that we could see Appalchian prior to heading home.  As soon as Samantha hit the seat she was out but we woke her up for pictures in Boone.  The campus has changed alot over the last couple of years to the point you almost don't recognize it but still a very beautiful campus.  We stopped at a great restaurant in Blowing Rock on the way home.  What a wonderful day trip.
