3v3 World Championships - Day 2
Day 2 of the 3v3 World Championships started at 8:30 this morning so we wanted to make sure we made it to the fields in time for the first game. Both Brayden and Kaya had went undefeated yesterday but we knew it was going to continue to get harder and harder as teams began to be eliminated. Samantha had her two shirts ready for today and switched off as Kaya and Brayden played to make sure everyone knew who she was pulling for. After two games each this morning they each seeded through the tournament meaning they had gotten through the tourney play into brackets with single elimination. We headed up to get a quick bite to eat prior to the afternoon games starting. We got word that Kaya had seeded in second in their group; Brayden also got second seed. Now this is good, but also makes you nervous cause you are the best of the best going against the best of the best. After lunch we headed to the field and Brayden's team left it all on the field. Time expired and they had a tie. Overtime and we still have a tie. It was coming down to penalty kicks and unfortunately the MUW team came up a little short on the penalty kicks. Tough way to go out but these boys had every right to hold their heads high as they truly are one talented group of boys that if they continue to play together will continue to win a lot of soccer games and tournaments. It was time to go to Kaya's last game of the day and it also was a knock out drag out war but the hot tamales came up a little short and unfortunately ended our tournament hopes of bringing home a trophy this year. We could not be more proud of the both of them and hope Samantha grows up to play like the both of them (hard; clean; with lots of finesse). We gave lots of hugs and kisses and said goodbye for the night as Samantha was exhausted and we needed to get going. We got home and got ready to head back out for dinner with Mickey and his friends. We love Chef Mickeys and were excited to get to spend a little time with our friends prior to heading back to Charlotte. Dinner was fun and Samantha loved the little one on one dance party she got to have with Donald (lots of tale feathers shaking) as the celebration started while he was in our area. After dinner Paige had said that she wanted to hang around for the fireworks to which I replied let's just head back. We got turned around somehow and ended up on the backside of Disney which quite honestly I did not know was possible but ended up right beside where the fireworks are shot off (did not know they were not done in the park) so we got an up close and personal view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks prior to calling it a night and heading to the room to get ready for the drive home tomorrow. Brayden & Kaya we love you and are so proud of you; thanks for letting us be a part of your world championship tournament!!!
