Cruise 2012 - Freeport, Bahamas!!!

On Wednesday we arrived in Freeport Bahamas and we were so excited about our resort day.  We woke up early and headed up to the Lido for breakfast.  After breakfast it was time to head off the ship.    We walked across the parking lot and they had a taxi ready (actually a 15 passenger van) to take us to Port Lucaya.  Again we got a great driver and on the way to Port Lucaya he told us all about the history; economy; crime; government of the Bahamas.  When we arrive in Port Lucaya we headed across the street to Our Lucaya Resorts to get a day pass.  The resort was beautiful and we had a very enjoyable relaxing day.  Samantha loved the beach and playing with the sand.  We decided to say goodbye to Our Lucaya and head across the street to eat lunch prior to heading back to the boat.  We found a nice local restaurant and grabbed a bite to eat there.  Samantha fell asleep prior to making it to the restaurant as grandpa was pushing her in the stroller so she did not get to try the shrimp.  While we waited for the food to cook I headed out to the marina to get a look at some of the beautiful boats that were in the marina.  After lunch and doing a little shoping (we found Mountain Dew) it was time to head back to port so we got back in the cab and headed back to the ship.  We had heard that Funship Freddy may be at the past guest party so we headed to that prior to dinner (they even had an invitation for Samantha which we thought was pretty cool).  Funship Freddy did make it to the event and Samantha took up alot of his attention.  We headed to dinner which is always good and since everyone had watched Samantha and I share a banana split off the kid's menu both Bob (our new friend at dinner) and Rick ordered banana splits off the kid's menu.  I am telling you that is a perfect banana split.  We went and listened to the comedy show after dinner prior to heading downstairs to finish packing as we knew we would be getting off the ship in the morning and we had to have our bags out by midnight.  Man this had been a fun cruise...good night Funship Freddy!!!
